PETLoves Privacy Policy
How PETLoves handles personal data, permissions, content and privacy requests.
Text revision: 2026-09-08
PETLoves helps pet owners, caregivers, professionals and pet-friendly activities organize profiles, pet care, diary entries, local experiences, community content, alerts, reviews and support. This Privacy Policy explains which information PETLoves handles, why it is used, when it may leave the device and which choices users have.
PETLoves is designed as a privacy-first service. The app minimizes data, requests permissions only in context, avoids cross-app tracking and keeps sharing under user control. Drafts, reminders and device preferences may remain on the device, while production services such as account authentication, live sync, public pages, media upload, moderation, analytics, crash reporting and support may process data on PETLoves servers or trusted service providers when enabled.
Data we process
PETLoves may process the following data when the user creates an account, fills a profile, publishes content, uploads media, contacts support or enables a feature:
- Account and contact information: name, email, role, city or region, account ID, profile photo, public bio, consent state and professional category.
- Pet profile information: pet name, species, breed, age, weight, preferences, photos, followers, emergency details and care context.
- Pet care information: diary notes, meals, activities, behavior, symptoms, medications, vaccines, appointments, reminders, documents and emergency profile fields.
- Community content: feed posts, stories, questions, answers, comments, alerts, meetups, reviews, likes, saved items, reports, block actions and moderation context.
- Professional and marketplace information: services, availability, operating area, address or map area, portfolio media, public business profile data, reviews and campaign setup where enabled.
- Media selected by the user: photos, camera captures, cover images, review media and documents. Media is uploaded only when the user chooses a feature for profiles, stories, posts, questions, alerts, reviews, diary/support documents or publication. The current image-only release does not accept new video/audio uploads; previously uploaded legacy videos may remain available for playback or deletion.
- Location data: approximate or precise location, only after permission, to show Vivi Zampa, Pet Care, alerts and nearby content. Some location lookups may be sent to PETLoves or map/place providers to return nearby results.
- Notification data: permission status, opt-out preferences, local reminders, quiet hours, inbox state and, if server push is enabled, push token and delivery metadata. PETLoves should send useful reminders, not generic segmented notifications.
- Support, analytics and diagnostics: app version, device context, release candidate ID, permission status, privacy-first analytics events, crash/error codes and diagnostic summaries. Non-essential analytics require consent. Operational crash/error diagnostics are minimized and redacted for safety and support.
- Moderation and safety data: reports, reasons, target content IDs, audit records, appeal context, user block records and reviewer actions when Trust & Safety backend services are active.
- Payment or billing data: not collected in the current production path unless PETLoves activates real payments, sponsor checkout or paid services. Full card numbers must be handled by the payment provider, not stored by PETLoves.
Pet health and emergency information can be sensitive. PETLoves organizes user-provided pet care information for the user and their trusted caregivers, but it does not replace veterinary care, veterinary diagnosis, emergency clinics or professional medical advice.
Why we use data
PETLoves uses data to:
- create, authenticate and manage owner, pet and professional profiles;
- sync profile, pet, diary, feed, story and media metadata across the user's devices when live sync is enabled;
- personalize the diary, Zampa Feed, Pet Care, Domande, Vivi Zampa and local editorial experiences;
- show nearby content when the user enables location;
- let users publish, edit, delete, report, review and share their own content;
- support booking requests, reviews, provider profiles and labeled sponsored placements where enabled;
- create reminders and notification flows chosen by the user;
- protect the community through reporting, blocking, moderation, audit logs and safety review;
- provide support, troubleshooting, crash diagnostics, privacy operations and store review evidence;
- comply with legal, safety, fraud prevention, accounting and app store requirements.
PETLoves does not sell personal data. PETLoves does not use third-party advertising trackers or cross-app tracking SDKs in the current release. Sponsored content, if present, is labeled and based on PETLoves context such as area, profile type, category, user choices or campaign settings rather than cross-app tracking.
Service providers
PETLoves may use trusted service providers for hosting, authentication, database, storage, live sync, maps/place lookups, analytics ingestion, crash reporting, email/support, moderation operations and public web pages. These providers process data for PETLoves based on technical and operational instructions. PETLoves should not provide them data that is unnecessary for the feature being used.
Permissions
PETLoves requests permissions only when useful for a specific feature:
- Location: used only with consent for Vivi Zampa, Pet Care, alerts and nearby content. Users can deny location and continue with area information already provided by them.
- Camera: user-initiated photo capture for profiles, stories, posts, diary documents, questions, alerts, reviews or professional content.
- Photo library: user-selected photos or documents for profiles, stories, posts, questions, alerts, reviews, support and diary attachments.
- Microphone: not requested by the current image-only release. New video/audio capture and upload are disabled.
- Notifications: useful local or server reminders for diary, Pet Care, alerts and community updates, controlled by preferences, quiet hours and opt-out.
Sharing and public content
The user controls sharing. PETLoves may prepare a visual or text preview for posts, stories, profiles, questions, alerts, bookings, referral invitations or emergency information, but sharing happens only after the user taps a share action or publishes content.
External apps such as WhatsApp, iMessage or Telegram receive only the content selected by the user through native sharing. PETLoves does not import the address book for referral or growth features. Public link previews use public share pages on petloves.it when available.
When users publish public content, that content may be visible to other users, public web pages, reviewers, search engines or moderation teams depending on the feature and visibility settings.
User-generated content and moderation
PETLoves includes user-generated content such as posts, stories, comments, questions, answers, reviews, alerts, meetup content and professional profile media. Users can report unsafe, abusive, misleading, illegal or privacy-invasive content. PETLoves may review, hide, remove, label, restore or limit content and may restrict accounts that abuse the service.
Reports, appeals, user blocks, reviewer actions and audit logs may be retained for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute handling or store review even after user-facing content is removed. Reporter identity and contact details should be redacted from public/user-facing views and visible only to authorized moderation/admin reviewers.
Users should not publish private addresses, personal documents, medical data, photos or videos of other people without permission. Alert reports should be useful and safe, not a tool for harassment or confrontation.
Professional profiles, reviews and sponsor campaigns
Professional profiles may provide public business details such as service area, description, services, opening hours, media, contact preferences and availability. Reviews should describe real experiences and may include photos only when the reviewer chooses to attach them.
Sponsor campaigns may require business information, budget, area, creative assets, billing details and performance metrics. Sponsored content must be labeled. Payment card data, when real payments are enabled, must be handled by a payment provider and should not be stored directly by PETLoves.
Retention and deletion
PETLoves supports data deletion requests for account, content and support data where the feature and legal basis allow it.
Device-only drafts and preferences remain on the device until the user edits them, deletes them, resets app data or uninstalls the app.
When cloud accounts or backend sync are enabled, PETLoves stores account, profile, pet, content, media metadata and service metadata needed to provide the service. Users can request access, correction, export, account recovery help, account deletion or other deletion by contacting support@petloves.it or using in-app account controls where available. Delete account and account access recovery flows must be tested on real accounts and multiple devices before public rollout. Some records may be retained or anonymized where required for safety, fraud prevention, moderation audit, accounting, legal obligations, dispute handling, backup integrity or store review.
In production, live sync and moderation must fail explicitly if PETLoves cannot confirm the action, so users are not told that sync, report or block actions succeeded when they did not.
PETLoves maintains a data retention map in the product documentation and must update it before activating new backend providers, payments, advertising, public marketplace publishing or server push.
Security
PETLoves minimizes stored data, avoids hardcoded secrets, uses operating system permission controls, uses HTTPS for public/API traffic, limits diagnostics, redacts sensitive fields and keeps support bundles privacy-first. No app or network system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children
Personal PETLoves accounts are intended for people aged 16 or over. People under 16 may not create or use an account, including under adult supervision. Users aged 16-17 remain minors and require age-appropriate safeguards. Under Article 8 GDPR, eligible users aged 16 or over can give their own privacy consent in the EU; this does not establish legal capacity for every contract or authorise processing for other purposes. Users should not add data about other minors without an appropriate legal basis or permission. Professional-account requirements are separate and described in the Terms.
Privacy rights and contact

Updates
PETLoves may update this policy when features, providers, backend services, analytics, payments, moderation, store requirements or legal obligations change. Material changes should be reflected in the app, store listings and public policy pages before release.
